The above applies to all extensions and other travel arrangements, whether independent or other, made in conjunction with this program.

  3. Trip cancellation and Interruption Insurance. We strongly advise that all travelers purchase trip cancellation and interruption insurance as protection against an emergency that may force you to cancel or leave a trip at any time, whether prior or subsequent to departure. Such insurance should be as comprehensive as possible and protect you from loss due to curtailment, default, medical emergency, etc. Due to the remote and sometimes wilderness locations to which we will travel, it is important that you are covered for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances. We strongly suggest that all participants in our programs carry travel insurance, particularly travel interruption/cancellation coverage. We recommend Travelex. You do not have to use Travelex, but adequate coverage provided by a reliable carrier is important! Visit Travelex Insurance Website

  4. Room sharing. All accommodations and rates are based upon double occupancy unless otherwise specified. If you are traveling alone and wish to share accommodations, we shall assign a roommate for you whenever possible. When pairing roommates, we shall at all times pair participants of the same gender together. All KJ Photo Safaris trips and accommodations are designated as strictly non-smoking. We shall try to pair smokers with other smokers. However, if it becomes necessary to pair a smoker with a non-smoker, the smoker is expected to respect the wishes of the non-smoker. If it is not possible to pair someone needing a roommate with such a roommate, that person may need to remit a single supplement for single occupancy accommodations, if available.

  5. What is included? Lodging, ground transportation, transfers once the group is assembled, guide service, admissions, some additional meals, photographic instruction, coaching and mentoring, lectures and photographic assistance are included in the cost of your trip. Some trips also include additional features and excursions as noted with each workshop. Trips within New Zealand may also include airfare as part of the trip itinerary.

  6. What is not included? Airfare and related expenses are not included in the cost of your trip. Airline, baggage and mandated security fees are not included. Entry visas and fees as well as exit fees imposed by a governmental agency are not included. All meals in airports or away from the lodge, some dinners, alcoholic beverages, liquor, tobacco, soft drinks, medical treatment, medications, items of a personal nature, gratuities, souvenirs, gifts and similar items are specifically not included in the cost of your trip and are at your own expense. No credit, refund or other allowance is available for missed meals, ground trips, photo sessions or activities.

  7. Itinerary. The primary goal of KJ Photo Safaris is to provide you with a successful and memorable photographic expedition. We strive to take advantage of ever-changing light and weather conditions as opportunities may present themselves. The itinerary shown has been arranged to afford the greatest access to what are considered the prime locations for superior photography. However, our first responsibility is to take all reasonable steps to ensure your personal safety. Due to constantly changing conditions of weather, light, atmospherics, volcanic, animal and other activity beyond the reasonable control of KJ Photo Safaris, all schedules are flexible and are subject to change at the discretion of your group leaders. Itineraries are designed and based on information available at the time of offering and are subject to change. KJ Photo Safaris reserves the right to change dates, staff, itineraries or accommodations as conditions may warrant. KJ Photo Safaris will make every reasonable effort to adhere to offered arrangements and costs, however, if such a trip must be delayed or altered due to conditions of weather, road conditions, transportation delays or malfunctions, government intervention, airline schedules or actions, acts of G-d, war or terrorism, illness or other contingency for which KJ Photo Safaris must make allowance or provision, the cost of such delays or alterations in not included in the original trip cost.

  8. Getting there. Your group must meet in the appropriate location as you will have been notified no later than the date and time as designated in the appropriate documents sent to you separately. Note: Make sure to have some extra cash readily available to cover entry visas and exit fees and taxes imposed by the governments of Zambia, etc.

  9. Note: Always be aware of the carry-on and checked baggage restrictions and limitations imposed by your airline/s and pack accordingly. Most airlines will accept excess and overweight pieces, but can and do charge hefty premiums to carry them. Most travelers find that they come to regret over packing.
  10. Passport. Please keep your passport with you at all times and take care to ensure that it does not expire until at least one hundred and twenty – one hundred and eighty (120 – 180) days after the date on which you are scheduled to return to the US or your country of origin.

  11. Medical and health. Participation in a KJ Photo Safaris trip requires that you be in good general health. While these trips are not designed to be overly strenuous, some portions do require a reasonable amount of physical activity. It is essential that persons with any medical or mobility conditions or restrictions and / or related dietary restrictions make them known to KJ Photo Safaris well before initial departure. We can then counsel you on whether the trip that you have selected is appropriate for you. You should also consult with you doctor or medical professional as to whether your physical abilities are compatible with the trip.  KJ Photo Safaris recommends that you consider bringing with you such medications as Diamox (Rx) for altitude sickness for trips such as Switzerland going to higher elevations, Imodium (OTC) or similar and Cipro (Rx) for all international travel and Dramamine, SeaBand or your preferred remedy for motion sickness if prone to such discomfort. In addition, most folks find that bringing Tylenol, Advil or similar pain reliever is often a big help.

It is important that you keep all prescriptions and other medications with you whenever appropriate. Do not place any prescriptions or other medications in checked baggage at any time. Antibiotics such as Diamox and Cipro (Rx) can become important in remote areas and help to save the enjoyment of your trip.

Your trip leaders have final authority at all times and may disqualify any participant from any activity at any time during the trip if they feel that the participant is physically incapable and / or if the continued participation of any participant has the potential to jeopardize the safety of the individual or the safety or enjoyment of the group. There will be no refund or other credit available to any participant in such an event.

  12. Currency fluctuations. In order to keep our rates as low as possible, KJ Photo Safaris does not include in advance any amount designed to cover any future changes in currency values or exchange rates. Therefore, while this happens rarely, as such values and exchange rates do fluctuate; it may become necessary for us to apply a surcharge to the cost of a trip at any time up to the date of departure if exceptional cost increases beyond our control should occur. Frankly, we do not expect this to be an issue, but are obliged to advise you accordingly.

  13. Itinerary cancellation. KJ Photo Safaris reserves the right to cancel an itinerary before departure for any reason whatsoever, including, but not limited to, logistical problems, labor stoppages, strikes, war, insurrection, governmental events or intervention, acts of God, too few participants, or other circumstances that may make the operation of the trip inadvisable. If KJ Photo Safaris elects, in its sole discretion, to cancel an itinerary, all trip payments received up to the date of such cancellation with the possible exception of non-refundable airfare, if any, which might be included, shall be refunded and this refund will be the limit of KJ Photo Safaris liability. You agree that such refund of amounts paid to Master Image Workshops shall be your sole remedy. KJ Photo Safaris is not responsible for any expenses incurred by trip members or participants in preparing for the trip, including any airfares which may be restricted, non-refundable or which may incur any penalties or re-issue fees imposed by an airline, clothing, visas, passport fees, or other trip-related expenses.

  14. Participation. KJ Photo Safaris reserves the right to decline to accept any person as a trip member for any reason whatsoever in its sole discretion.

  15. Limitations of Liability. This section further defines the liability of KJ Photo Safaris and its responsibility with respect to any and all trips, including extensions and independent arrangements. Please read carefully. KJ Photo Safaris, its owners, employees, agents hereby give notice that they act only as the agent for owners, contractors and suppliers providing means of transportation, lodging and/or all other related travel services and assume no responsibility howsoever caused for injury, death, loss, or damage to persons or property in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from acts of Nature or God, volcanic activity, detention, annoyance, strike, riot, war, insurrection, terrorism, civil or criminal act or disturbance, delays, expenses, quarantine, strikes, fire, theft, pilferage, force majeur, failure of any means of conveyance to arrive, depart or perform as scheduled or expected, government restriction or regulation and discrepancies or changes in transit or hotel/lodging services or the action of any entity, person or persons over which it does not reasonably have control. Reasonable changes to any itinerary may be made where deemed advisable for the comfort, safety or well-being of participants. As more fully described in Section 11 above, prices may be subject to change. As more fully described in Section 12 above, in the event that a trip is cancelled by KJ Photo Safaris, then KJ Photo Safaris is not responsible for any personal expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip.

Airline terms, conditions and tariffs shall prevail in all matters dealing with airline carriage. These generally limit the liability of the carrier and you are bound by these terms with respect to your relationship with the airlines as a passenger or customer.

Upon payment of a deposit or other funds to KJ Photo Safaris or a representative thereof, the participant acknowledges that he or she has received, read, understands and agrees to all terms and condition herein and agrees irrevocably to be bound by them.

I understand that I am responsible for my own personal safety, medical care of all natures and expenses, dietary restrictions, food and all other allergies. I further understand that such travel as this to such remote locations as these includes inherent risk of illness and injury up to and including death. I assume all risk for such events. KJ Photo Safaris, its personnel, principals, partners, contractors, agents, et al are hereby released from any and all liability for such events.
